Call the Surgery on 029 2070 6043

We will ask you questions about why you need an appointment and will sometimes direct you to an alternative healthcare practitioner – this may be a pharmacist, dentist, optician, or other local service.

Children 16 years and younger presenting with an acute issue will be assessed on the same day.

We currently offer a variety of appointments, including:

The doctor may wish to arrange a face to face appointment at the surgery for those patients undergoing a telephone consultation.

Our phone lines are extremely busy, due to the huge demands on our service at this time, so for an “on the day” appointment we recommend you call early and stay on the line until the call is answered. There is a call queuing system in place with several receptionists answering calls. There is also a “request a call back function”.

  • We currently offer on average roughly 40-50 “on the day” appointments in the morning, with the afternoon set up for urgent same day appointments.
  • For routine problems, medication reviews or follow-up appointments, we recommend organising a pre-booked appointment (typically 3–4 weeks in advance).
  • We recommend that you call at a less busy time of day, such as mid-morning or mid-afternoon.
  • For telephone consultations we offer a time range in which the GP will call you, i.e. 11-12 or 3-5 to make it easier for those people who are in work. All face to face appointments will be given a definitive time slot.
  • If circumstances change, and you wish to cancel your appointment, then you can do this at any time, without actually speaking to a receptionist, by choosing Option 2 from the surgery’s telephone system. Alternatively, you can complete this form.  Both of these facilities are available when the surgery is closed.

HOME VISITS

A Home Visit is provided when a patient who is housebound and unable to attend the surgery, or a resident in a care/nursing home, are too unwell to attend the surgery.

OUT OF HOURS
